Answered: What is Hell Fire, New Heaven and New Earth?

The existence of Heaven or Hell is been argued by most people today even Christians. Some believe that those who believes in Christ will eventually be in Heaven when they die and those who do not believe in Christ would be tormented forever in Hell Fire.

Another group believes that God is so merciful, that He cannot allow humanity to suffer forever in Hell Fire, attributing to the fact that Hell fire does not exist. They believe that, what some people call Hell is “grave”. They believe that there is nothing like Hell, Hell means grave (Hades). “Fire” is removed from “Hell Fire”, so Hell is what is left!

There is also a belief that death is the end of all things, that there is no Judgment or anything like Heaven or Hell – “death, ends everything”.

What the Word of God says – The Bible

Let look at what the Word of God, the Bible says about New Heaven, New Earth, Heaven and Hell. The Word of God is profitable for doctrine, 2Timothy 3:16, and Bible interprets Bible 2Peter 1:20-21, Romans 15:4. God cannot lie and He’s not the author of confusion, Titus 1:2, Numbers 23:9, 1Corinthians 14:33.

Prophet Isaiah

Isaiah 65:17. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Isaiah 66:22-24: – 22. For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

  1. And it shall come to pass, thatfrom one new moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
  2. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

Apostle John

Revelation 21:1:- And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Apostle Peter

2Peter 3:13:- Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

For there to be a New Heaven and a New Earth, the old one must be removed, Isaiah 34:1-4, 2Peter 3:10-12, Revelation 6:12-14, Isaiah 51:6

Why would God want to create a New Heaven and a New Earth?

New Heaven and New Earth - Feed Me The Word Today

From the Garden of Eden, God created Man who sinned against Him and since that time, evil have been on the increase Gen 6:5-7, He destroyed the world in the time of Noah (saving him and his family alone) with a great flood, so that the rate of evil will be reduced on Earth.

Gen 6:5 -7:- 5. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

  1. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
  2. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

God is doing all these to eliminate bad people from the earth, He wants to separate the goats from the sheep. Even after Noah, evil keeps on increasing on the face of the earth, so God promises a redemption plan to save humanity by the death of His son Jesus.
God wants man to be in fellowship with Him, Revelation 4:11. He wants a world where people will not be ashamed to call Him God, where all the world will serve Him in righteousness and holiness.

You might say – God has the power from the beginning to create the kind of world he desires, why did He not?

The reason is, God loves humanity and has given Man the ample opportunity to make choice of his own, God would not want man to be treated like a robot. Whatever choice a man makes is up to him. His choice would determine his fate when he dies:

Deuteronomy 30:15, 19:- 15. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 19. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

As a matter of choice, Moses asked the children of Israel “who is on the Lord’s side?”, when he saw that they were not doing what God wants, Exodus 32:25-26.

Is God wicked, to destroy those who sins against Him in Hell, when they die?

When God promised the children of Israel the Promised Land, the land was inhabited by some other persons. God will have to drive them away to give the land to His people – Is God unjust? – the answer is NO!

Whenever the children of Israel goes out for battle, they often record victory (the victims who lost their live are also humans) because God was in support of them – Is God not merciful? – the answer is NO (Genesis 34;6-7)!

God hardened the heart of Pharoah (Exodus 4:21, 7:13) and yet destroyed him as a result of not letting His people, the children of Israel go – Is God heartless? – the answer is NO!

When God destroyed the entire world with water saving Noah and his family alone, and also Sodom and Gomorrah in the days of Abraham, can we say that God is not merciful? – He indeed is a merciful God (Lamentations 3: 22-23)!

God is Almighty, He has the power to do whatever He pleases, He remains forever unquestionable Romans 9:19-20. He is Merciful and also a consuming fire, Romans 9:15, Hebrews 12:29, Isaiah 66:15, Psalm 97:3.

Is there anything like Judgment after death?

Judgment Day - Feed Me The Word Today

Death is not the end of humanity as some claim. There was a woman who married seven brothers due to the event of death as told by the Sadducees, they asked Jesus whose wife she would be in the resurrection, and Jesus told them that, in the resurrection, there is nothing like marriage, that everyone would be as an angel in heaven, Mark 12:18-25. This statement verifies that there is an after-life – life after death!

There is judgment after a man dies as seen in Hebrews 9:27: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Everyone would give an account of himself to God, Romans 2:16, 14:12, Matthew 12:36, 1Peter 4:5.

Therefore, for there to be judgment, there would be a penalty – either freedom or the consequences, if found guilty – this brings us to the reality of the existence of Heaven and Hell Fire called Eternity(life after death)!

A man will either spend Eternity in Heaven or in Hell Fire!

It’s Hell Fire, not Hell!

Heaven is a place where God and His Holy Angels live Psalm 123:1, Matthew 24:36. Hell Fire is a temporary place for those who died in their evil ways!

Hell Fire - Feed Me The Word Today

Isaiah 66:22-24 above, describes a place where people who sinned against God were kept, when the New Heaven and the New Earth has come! It also says in verse 24 that, “neither shall their fire be quenched!”. This is what is described as the Lake of Fire in Revelation 9:20, 20:10, 14-15.

Jesus talked about Hell Fire while He was on earth. He associated Hell with Fire in Matthew 5:22 and Mark 9:43, 45, 47.

Apostle James also associated Hell with Fire, when he was talking about the tongue in James 3:6.

This is enough evidence that Hell is associated with Fire!

Conclusion

It is crystal clear that death doesn’t end humanity – in fact, it’s the beginning of a new era – there is life after death, Eternity. Man would be judged according to how he lives his life while he was alive on earth. Have in mind that, since God would create a New Heaven and a New Earth, this present world would certainly come to an end. No one knows the timing (Matthew 24:36). You need to be on the Lord’s side – the side of good people, God’s people.

If you are not sure on whose side you are, you can say the prayer below to join God’s family, so simple and easy:

SAY THIS PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I confess to you that I’m a sinner

I’m sorry for all the sins I have committed

I promise you never to go back to them anymore from today

Lord Jesus, come into my life

Be my Lord and Savior

Remove my name from the book of death

Write my name in the book of life

Give me the power to sin no more

Give me the grace to follow you forever

In Jesus name, AMEN!

You’re welcome!!!

If you just made this Prayer, you’re totally part of God’s family. You might need to study these scriptures personally, 2Corinthians 5:17, John 1:12, 2Corinthians 6:14-18, 1John 3:8-10, John 3:3, 16, 1Corinthians 6:9-10. God bless you!
